Zeptepi - Vanishing Point

The World of Zeptepi

The first half of these lyrics were written in '94 for a project that never got off the ground. They were then shaped for a Physic Garden track whose original name escapes me at the moment (doubtless something very gothic!) and the last section appended as a sort of answer to the first, fitting with the music. I've annotated the two distinct sections with their own sub-titles (as I envisaged initially).

1. Meeting Point

I see you and you see me
Our eyes connect in mystery
Examine the agenda
As the first impressions burn into your brain

I say ‘Hi’; you say ‘Hello’
On our faces slowly shows
Our hidden agenda
As we figure out each other’s party games

In this life we meet so many people that we never see again

You come round and meet my friends
Is it rocket launch or is it journey’s end?
Re-draw the agenda
As their first impressions burn

You say ‘Hi’ and they stay low
On their faces slowly shows
Their hidden agenda
As they eye you up and wonder 'Where’s the gain?'
In this life we meet so many people that we never see again

Years may come and days may go
Time to time we cannot know
The probable agenda
As we make decisions nothing’s on it’s own

In this life we meet so many people that we never see again
In this life we meet so many people - but so few that we still know
If we leave chips on our shoulders
All this prejudice and pain
In this life
Have we got far to go?

2. Vanishing Point

Life's too short for foolish pride
You'll soon be on the other side
Can't take it with you when you go
Don't try telling me it isn't so
So say ‘Goodbye’ or say ‘Hello’ -
It matters not which side you go
Remember - take this with you though
Those first impressions lie you know
