Map of the World

Posted offlist in response to whingeing americans who don't understand the economics of touring slagging off one of my friends in a completely unacceptable manner. Anyway, they got a tour a couple of years later.

Note: Bristolians often add an 'l' to the ends of words ending in a vowel (and as we discovered the place we can pronounce it how we like!)

Map of the World

Watching the people out on Freaks today she couldn't help but smile
Watchin' the clowns go squawking by all shaded knives and alibis
Strange the disdain you can hide away beneath a flameproof suit
Is this the day she walks away?

And the knights of the PC pushin' a good lass
Calling her out tonight
Say she's spending your money for a better life

She's got a map of the world
Pinned up on her wall
She's got a map of the world
With no sign of Americal
And did you cause it all?

Watchin the people out on Freaks today
Such a lonely sight
'Swore she could see their dreams go by
All bleedin' hearts and sour goodbyes
Postin on empty Postin as if ill
No sign of their own lives
Sweettalking never crossed their minds

If she seems a little scary
A little runaway
Letting go with her big guns
When the knights of the PC, well they're all singin'
What about us, c'mon?
Well when they short-sell themselves
They short-sell everyone

She's got a map of the world
Pinned up on her wall
She's got a map of the world
With no sign of Americal
That's no surprise at all

She'll empty the sand from her shoes
At Pontins
See nowt across the waves
She'll dance under an island sky
In the great UK

She's got a map of the world
Pinned up on her wall
It's such a beautiful world
Nothing to the West at all

She's got a map of the world
Shining away in her mind
Colouring in her life
Is this the day she walks?
'Cos she can see it all
She can read it all
Paris London Warsaw
And no US at all
